Brass is still a favored metallic, though brushed or matte finishes bring it “forward.” In a greater use of copper and bronze, we see that metals, like colors, are experiencing a warming trend.
Function, and Form
Metals are mingling in a variety of design environments. They can be the missing link that modernizes yet “maintains” a transitional space. And they’re going beyond table bases, taking shape decoratively, and as artistic objects in otherwise functional pieces like lighting and mirrors.
